Forum Topic: "After upgrading Scribe Insight to 7.5 Scribe Update dies with Unhandled Exception"

When I right click Scribe Updates in the task-bar and select "Check for Updates" I get the following (this happens on the server and all workstations that I have upgraded to 7.5):

Unhandled Exception

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration></configuration>
    <system></system>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

We have identified this as a defect in the 7.5 release of Insight. Users can work around this issue by going to the Help Menu in the Workbench and choosing the option to "Check for Product Updates...". We will post more information on a resolution when it is available!

This issue will be seen only on 64-bit operating systems after upgrading to 7.5.0 and searching for updates to 7.5.0 via Scribe's Update Service found in the system tray.  You will not receive this error when on 7.0.2 and checking for updates. As noted above, a workaround is to check for updates via the Workbench or Console.
